What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site work properly and can remember things like whether you're logged in.
Some cookies are set by the site you're visiting (first-party cookies). Others are set by third-party services the site uses (third-party cookies). We only use first-party cookies.
Cookies we use
We only use strictly essential cookies. These are needed for the platform to function and can't be switched off.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session_token | Keeps you signed in | Session |
| auth_token | Authentication and account verification | 7 days |
| csrf_token | Protects against cross-site request forgery | Session |
What we don't use
We don't currently use:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics, etc.)
- Marketing or advertising cookies
- Social media tracking cookies
- Third-party cookies of any kind
If this changes in the future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Here's how in the main browsers:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to LifeTap.
